Holiday Lights

The zoo sparkles at night with over 100,000 lights, including animated light sculptures and miles of lighting through the trees. Families can take advantage of late visiting hours for the holiday season so that everyone can visit the live reindeer together.

Got cabin fever? Prospect Park is open all school break, with plenty of great things to do to fight the winter doldrums!

The Audubon Center at the Boathouse and Lefferts Historic House are open 12 – 4 p.m. all week long; the Tennis Center is open 7am – 11 p.m. Special hours at the Wollman Ice Rink. Free parking.

Children’s Film Fest

Exploring Together: Art and Culture for Families
Every Third Saturday of the month, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This monthly bilingual program offers the whole family an opportunity to explore Latin American and Caribbean art and culture together. Featuring a new theme each month, workshops provide a variety of activities for children and their adult partners including artist-led gallery talks, art workshops, music and film programs. Workshops are designed for children ages 5-11 (ages vary by workshop).

In this seafaring exhibit, kids climb the crow's nest, learn firsthand how fishermen do their jobs and dabble in such nautical activities as oystering, reading radars, and deciphering Morse code.
