Tianna Greene, proud mother of Iquan, a PS12 4th grader, shares a story that her son recently wrote, called "My Three Fairy Godmothers". In this uplifting, metaphorical tale, Iquan expresses how the love and support of his principal and two of his teachers have helped him overcome the doubt he had in his abilities. Thanks to his Fairy Godmothers, Iquan has a new-found belief in himself that's enabling him to succeed at PS12.
There was this prince who tried to succeed at everything, everything he does or ever did. But for some reason things that seemed to be easy for others was not as easy for the prince. The prince will try and try but he just couldn't catch on as fast as the others. The prince went to talk to his mother the Queen. She would tell the prince to keep on trying and never give up. The prince would have people put him down. People the prince looked up to as role models would tell him you can't do it, you won't make it. The prince had minor set backs but guess what he's back on track thanks to his Fairy Godmothers, Ms. Dixon, Ms. Castillo, and Ms. Strawn. Now the prince has all the power in the world. He has the confidence he need. The prince goes by the village model which is together we aspire, together we achieve. That's what the prince live by now. He has the self-esteem he always wanted thanks to his mother the Queen and his three beautiful Fairy Godmothers, Ms. Dixon, Ms. Castillo, and Ms. Strawn.
The end.
Together we aspire, together we achieve.
